Constantinou Bros Hotels has recently become a member of the Cyprus Breakfast programme. This programme was created by the Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO), the Travel Foundation, UK and the Cyprus Sustainable Tourism Initiative (CSTI) through the ‘Cyprus Destination Partnership’ programme in order to promote the history and culture of the traditional local gastronomy and to enhance authenticity in the hotels in Cyprus.
Constantinou Bros Hotels supports the ‘Cyprus Breakfast’ and showcases the Cypriot identity by providing a range of local products to their guests. The buffet contains a great selection of Cypriot specialties including the traditional halloumi cheese and anari, the homemade halloumi pie and olive pie and fresh local fruits that are linked to the authenticity of Cyprus. Our guests can taste the Island’s unique and traditional delicacies and aromas of the products derived from the life of the rural family; such as fresh goat’s milk, green olives, souzouko (a traditional sweet made from grape must, nuts and flour), carob syrup dumplings, fresh herbs, smoked meats of Cyprus and spoon sweets (preserved fruit in syrup) such as ‘glyko karidaki” (walnut spoon sweet) which are all naturally produced from our local communities.
Constantinou Bros Hotels have embraced the ‘Cyprus Breakfast’ and continuously add traditional flavours to enrich the hotel’s Cyprus Breakfast corner. We have also recently included ‘kserotigana’ (fritters with honey and nuts) and ‘bourekia with anari’ (a type of pastry filled with a soft white cheese), together with an array of local raw nuts and dried fruits, such as almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, sunflower seeds, plus dried apricots, dates, figs, and many more.
